Psalm 77
- 1
- Psalm 77 For the director of music. For Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm.
- 1
- I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me.
- 2
- When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted.
- 3
- I remembered you, O God, and I groaned; I mused, and my spirit grew faint. Selah
- 4
- You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak.
- 5
- I thought about the former days, the years of long ago;
- 6
- I remembered my songs in the night. My heart mused and my spirit inquired:
- 7
- "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again?
- 8
- Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time?
- 9
- Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" Selah
- 10
- Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High."
- 11
- I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
- 12
- I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.
- 13
- Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God?
- 14
- You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
- 15
- With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
- 16
- The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed.
- 17
- The clouds poured down water, the skies resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth.
- 18
- Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
- 19
- Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.
- 20
- You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Psalm 100
- 1
- Psalm 100 A psalm. For giving thanks.
- 1
- Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
- 2
- Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
- 3
- Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his [1] ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
- 4
- Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
- 5
- For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 149
- 1
- Psalm 149
- 1
- Praise the LORD. [1] Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.
- 2
- Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
- 3
- Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp.
- 4
- For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.
- 5
- Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
- 6
- May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
- 7
- to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
- 8
- to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,
- 9
- to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
Psalm 121
- 1
- Psalm 121 A song of ascents.
- 1
- I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
- 2
- My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
- 3
- He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;
- 4
- indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
- 5
- The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
- 6
- the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
- 7
- The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
- 8
- the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Psalm 24
- 1
- Psalm 24 Of David. A psalm.
- 1
- The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
- 2
- for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
- 3
- Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
- 4
- He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. [1]
- 5
- He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.
- 6
- Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. [2] Selah
- 7
- Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
- 8
- Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
- 9
- Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
- 10
- Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. Selah
Psalm 10
- 1
- Psalm 10
- 1
- Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
- 2
- In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.
- 3
- He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.
- 4
- In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
- 5
- His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies.
- 6
- He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble."
- 7
- His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue.
- 8
- He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims.
- 9
- He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
- 10
- His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength.
- 11
- He says to himself, "God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees."
- 12
- Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
- 13
- Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?
- 14
- But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
- 15
- Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.
- 16
- The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.
- 17
- You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
- 18
- defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
Psalm 93
- 1
- Psalm 93
- 1
- The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
- 2
- Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.
- 3
- The seas have lifted up, O LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
- 4
- Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea-- the LORD on high is mighty.
- 5
- Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days, O LORD.
